Summary:


Provides direct lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants. 

 

Job Duties:

  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of the patient's lactation goals and issues.
  • Develops evidence-based feeding plans that address the mother and infant's feeding issues.
  • Designs and implements community outreach/education programs and activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of current lactation theories and research.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years of experience
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • IBCLC or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS), or Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS)
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required within 2 years of hire
  • BLS 
  • 2 years of recent maternal/child nursing experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing

    The pay range for this position is: $34.73 - $53.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
