Come join a rapidly growing health system as an Ophthalmic Technician. We are seeking highly skilled clinicians with extensive ophthalmology experience. 

We offer an Ophthalmic Assistant Academy for highly motivated candidates with a medical background who are interested in a career as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician.  This program is supported by our highest level of Ophthalmic Professionals – Senior Ophthalmic Technicians. By joining us as an Ophthalmic Technician, you are eligible for professional advancements into the Senior Ophthalmic Technician Preceptor Program. Our Senior Ophthalmic Technicians partner with senior faculty members to mentor junior Ophthalmic Assistants and Technicians through lectures and courses. Highly motivated and skilled candidates can grow into the prestigious role of a Senior Ophthalmic Technician as soon as 6-12 months of being hired.

Job Duties:

  • Under the direct supervision of eye care provider, assists with performing patient care. Demonstrate proficiency in performing ophthalmic core competencies.
  • Performs basic ophthalmic testing procedures, diagnostic testing, administration of medications and tasks delegated by the eye care provider.
  • Assists with minor procedures and prescription refill process under the direction of provider.
  • Performs documentation, patient education and enters charges. Assists with the flow of patient care.


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) or National Contact Lens Examiner Certification (NCLEC) if performing as a contact lens Technician
  • BLS 
  • 2 years sponsored on the job ophthalmic training, or ophthalmic internship

The pay range for this position is: $22.54 - $33.81 / hour.  An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
