Sterile Process Tech II - Harmony Surgery Center

Location:

UCHlth Harmony Campus 2121 Harmony

Summary:

Performs sterile processing functions, focusing on decontamination and processing of complex operating room instrumentation.


Work Schedule: Full Time, 64 hours/pay period, Days


Responsibilities:

  • Receives, decontaminates, processes and reassembles simple and complex instrument trays and sets according to procedures. Ensures correct operation of all SPD equipment.
  • Assembles and sterilizes simple and complex trays, packs, and linen for facility, joint ventures and physician offices. Assists in cleaning and stocking processing and decontamination areas, instruments and case carts. Cleans sterilizers and washers.
  • Assists with O.R. room turnover if needed. Performs set-up for following day's cases. Submits recipe changes and updates for O.R. specialty areas. Assists in maintenance of instrument recipe files. Uses instrument tracking system to update instrument recipes.
  • Makes suggestions for policy and procedures changes. Troubleshoots malfunctions and reports to leader. Cross-trains to other areas as requested. Orders supplies as assigned. Provides coverage in absence of team leader.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent learning experience.
  • Preferred: CRCST.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

The pay range for this position is: $15.45 - $23.18 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
