Vice President, Perioperative Services

The VP Perioperative Services is accountable for the overall leadership, strategic direction, capital planning and financial performance of the operations of Perioperative Services and has responsibility and accountability for the patient care provided. The VP Perioperative Services supports and facilitates an interdisciplinary team approach to the delivery of care

Included in the Metro Denver Region responsibilities are the following hospitals and major ambulatory center locations:

·       University of Colorado Hospital

·       Highlands Ranch Hospital

·       Longs Peak Hospital

·       Broomfield Hospital

·       Steadman Hawkins Clinic Denver

·       Cherry Creek Medical Center

Reporting Relationships

Reports to:      Chief Operating Officer, University of Colorado Hospital  (UCH)


 


 

Goals and Objectives

The Vice President of Perioperative Services is a member of the senior leadership team at UCH.

Achieving the vision. The VP Perioperative Services success in this position will be measured by attaining these goals:

Ensures healthy and collaborative relationships among the faculty and staff within Perioperative Services, and with the hospital, the related departments, and across UCHealth.

 

Drives operational excellence throughout the service area and leads growth of service line volume within facility, development of new programs and advancement of existing ones

 

·       Driving process improvement within the service line to increase employee engagement and physicians’ satisfaction

 

·       Enabling finding solutions to problems that get in the way of differentiated service

 

·       Monitors and evaluates operations to ensure compliance with established professional, regulatory, and organizational standards/requirements.

 

·       Supporting a positive patient experience by providing optimal cost effective delivery of services by physicians and professional staff within a safe department


Be well informed of trends and developments in the health care field, particularly when they pertain to strategic planning, analytic and decision support tools, financial trends, evolving technologies and programs.


Enhance the current perioperative service to develop an (productive, transparent, safe) place to work for surgeons and high quality and efficient place for our patients.

 

 Candidate Qualifications

Education/Certification

Master's degree.  Preferred MSN

Minimum 7-10 years of relevant leadership experience in Perioperative Services

·       Demonstrate executive presence with the knowledge base and stature to deliver advice in a manner that is respected and valued.

·       Demonstrate leadership abilities, recognizing the need to adapt his/her leadership style to the abilities and competency of staff and changing situations.

 

·       Introduce innovative ideas and encourage creative thinking and imaginative solutions to issues or problems.  Be a great communicator and developer of talent.

 

·       Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively using two-way channels of communication with openness and active listening.

 

  • Prioritize effectively and exercise sound judgment balancing the needs of the organization when making strategic decisions.
