Summary:


Manages the daily operations of the department to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. This position will have direct reports to AMC Systems Analysts and the Sr. Process Improvement Consultant.


Work Schedule: Full Time Days


Responsibilities:

  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, departmental contracts and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Monitors regulatory compliance with modality specific accreditations and ACR DICOE designation.
  • Oversees compliance with physician peer review and FPPE/OPPE regulations.
  • Oversees monthly quality reviews to ensure all faculty and staff are aware of compliance with department/hospital specific benchmarks. 
  • Identifies trends and facilitates the development/implementation/evaluation of quality initiatives as needed.
  • Maintains department wide and modality specific scorecards.
  • Manages modality specific Radiology Quality Specialists/Educators to ensure implementation and compliance in all aspects of Department Quality.
  • Supports special projects and business analysis as requested
  • Works closely with modality specific Radiology managers, Imaging administration and Radiologists. 
  • Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • Dedicated to Clinical Quality for both AMC Radiology, as well as School of Medicine Radiology, reporting to the AMC Radiology Director and dotted line to SOM Radiology leadership.


Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program. Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
    Required Licensure/Certification: Registered as a Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). State licensure if required by law. Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
    Minimum Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Project Management, Process Improvement, Data Analytics, Quality Improvement, Quality Management, Regulatory Requirements, ACR requirements and state/federal imaging regulations. 



The pay range for this position is: $47.57 - $76.11 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.


An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
