Summary:
Flex/PRN pharmacist coordinates and provides the pharmaceutical care for adult emergency medicine (EM) and intensive care unit (ICU) patients. This person will be expected to be flexible with coverage and available to cover 7 days a week, including day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. This person will also be expected to work one weekend every 6 weeks in the ED (pending availability). The ideal candidate will be trained in EM and ICU pharmacy to be able to pick up shifts as needed in either area. 

Work Schedule: PRN, No guaranteed days or hours, Rotating

Responsibilities:

  • Manages pharmaceutical care and protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team. 
  • Responds to all resuscitation/emergency response needs in the emergency department.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug-related problems. 
  • Provides drug information and education to medical professionals, students, and patients.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Pharmacist and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
  • Preferred: Emergency medicine PGY2 or Critical care PGY2
  • Preferred: Emergency Medicine experience for at least 2 years.

The pay range for this position is: $50.76 - $76.14 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
