Summary:

Performs preventive maintenance inspections, electrical safety testing and repairs on complex medical imaging systems including Vascular systems, CT, MRI, Ultrasound and general x-ray.

Performs / Coordinates the scheduling of diagnostic imaging service requests.

Analyzes diagnostic imaging equipment for causes of failure; isolates, tests, and replaces defective parts; uses available test equipment to test malfunctioning components.

Works with original equipment manufacturers and manages/monitors vendor performance on systems under warranty/contract under guidance of Vendor Service Manager and Imaging Engineering Manager.

Performs routine calibration adjustments to diagnostic imaging equipment and documents results in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Follows established departmental guidelines regarding PM and repair documentation and completion.

Exhibits a very high level of communication, customer service, and an ability to interact successfully with hospital staff.

Provides engineering and technical counsel on codes and standards, maintenance, and repair of medical imaging systems; establishes appropriate safety standards, under the guidance of an Imaging Engineering Manager.

Provides correct, precise, and timely documentation of maintenance actions performed including documentation required by regulatory agencies.

Exhibits excellence in process, accuracy and compliance.

Work Schedule: Full Time Days / 80hrs per pay period (Biweekly)

Responsibilities:

  • Responds to support requests. Interviews customer to determine nature and scope of the customer's issue, and the appropriate response.
  • Diagnoses, resolves and closes medical imaging equipment issues according to service level guidelines. Promptly escalates issues to higher level technical support or management when necessary.
  • Performs routine safety and image quality assurance verifications, calibrations, and preventative maintenance on medical equipment and support systems.
  • Demonstrates understanding of customer service policies and procedures, continuously develops depth and breadth of technical competencies.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: High School degree or GED.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: None required.
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.

The pay range for this position is: $34.62 - $51.93 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
