Summary:

Manages the Graduate Nurse Residency Program, including collaboration with Human Resources to recruit graduate nurse residents, the development and implementation of program curriculum, oversight of resident progression through all program components and development of innovative strategies for retention of graduate nurses,

Work Schedule: Part Time Days

Responsibilities:
Participates with Human Resources Recruiters in the recruitment and hiring process of graduate nurse residents, including acting as a team member to development recruitment strategies and actions to ensure a seamless and successful hiring process.

Develops and implements the graduate nurse residency program curriculum, in collaboration applicable governing bodies and committees. Conducts and/or coordinates classes, skills verification labs, specialized courses, group sessions and other activities.

Acts in a leadership role for the program, chairing applicable committees, articulating program needs, monitoring the budget, and reporting program issues to Director. Participates in the development of strategies for retention of graduate nurses.

Functions as a liaison between disciplines and departments in assuring a smoothly coordinated residency program, including facilitating meetings, identifying and responding to daily problems.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

  • .We will consider applicants who have Emergency or Critical Care nursing experience also. The position is specific to teaching in the Med/Surg care environment and curriculum.


  • Minimum Required Education: MSN in nursing from a nationally accredited program. Internal candidates may hold a BSN if an MSN is in progress.
    Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level.
    Minimum Experience: 3 years of medical surgical, intensive care or specialty nursing experience in an acute care setting. Instructional teaching experience, both formal and informal.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

The pay range for this position is: $38.29 - $59.35 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
