JOB SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Assists the CEO in directing the overall operation of the organization, consistent with defined organization policies and objectives. Performs other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

·Assist the CEO in the general operations of Campbell County Health (CCH).

·Administers the general accounting, patient financial services, including third-party reimbursement, financial and statistical reporting functions of the organization in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures.

·Has responsibility for Accounting, Information Technology, Patient Accounting, Admitting, Medical Records, Revenue Cycle Management, Materials Management, Home Medical Resources (DME), and Internal Audit.

·Assists the CEO in the development of long and short-range operational and strategic plans, which may include service demand analysis, resources availability analysis, and cost-benefit analysis of proposed capital and staffing plans.

·Develops long and short-range operational and capital budgets, which support the organization’s long and short-range plans and objectives. Prepares cash flow analysis and budget variance analysis. Recommends budget modifications as required. Assists managers in the development of departmental budgets.

·Monitors organizations fiscal performance in realizing established plans and objectives of the organization. Identifies and reports undesirable trends and makes recommendations for remedial action.

·Directs the preparation of internal financial reports including work papers for annual financial audit. Assures the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and assures that the reports reliably reflect the financial position of the organization.

·Assumes a lead role in exploring means of reducing organization’s operating costs and increasing revenues.

·Prepares financial data and associated reports required by government and other regulating agencies including payroll tax reports, public disclosure reports, and third-party payer cost reports.

·Oversees and maintains accounting internal control and other business systems and procedures assuring uniform and correct internal reporting.

·With oversight of the CEO, is the liaison to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.

·Under direction of the CEO, participates in education and advocacy to elected officials on issues important to CCH.

·Responsible for all areas of receivables management. Ensures maximum efficiency in the patient financial services.

·Consults and negotiates with third-party payers concerning the payment rates to the organization.

·Provides leadership with the organization’s compliance program.

·Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.

·Complies with the organization’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and policies and procedures.

·Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

·Education: Master’s degree in healthcare administration, CPA, business administration or related field required.

·Licensure / Certifications: None.

·Experience: Five (5) years previous executive experience in hospital or healthcare and previous CFO experience required. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial management and analysis principles and techniques.

·Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to type and use computer.

·Interpersonal Skills: Work requires interpersonal skills to communicate sensitive business matters to individuals who have varying levels of comprehension, and problem solving skills necessary to interact with managers, employees, vendors and the public.

·Essential Physical Requirements: Work is performed in an office setting.

·Essential Mental Abilities: Work requires ability to communicate effectively. Ability to think quickly and handle various projects simultaneously. Ability to act decisively and take effective action. Knowledge of software applications.

·Essential Sensory Requirements: Sufficient vision, hearing and speech to perform duties.

·Exposure to Hazards: OSHA CATEGORY III. Identified job duties do not have any anticipation for contact with blood, contaminated body fluids or tissues.

·Other (Hours of Work): Generally, Monday through Friday, although will be expected to work evenings, nights and weekends as job and duties require. Required to take administrative call.

·Attends required meetings 80% of time.

·Completes Mandatory Education to include annual Patient Safety Fair

·National certification of specialty unit recommended.

·20 hours CEU
