UCHealth is seeking an Associate General Counsel as a healthcare generalist, with broad healthcare transactional and regulatory experience. The applicant will be the initial point of contact for many legal matters arising in UCHealth’s South Region. The applicant will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at UCHealth’s Memorial Central Hospital and will work directly with the Hospital’s leadership team. The position is integrated into the UCHealth Legal Department and provides legal services throughout the UCHealth System. The applicant should have the ability to provide day-to-day healthcare regulatory advice and handle hands-on negotiation and drafting of transactions with minimal oversight. The Associate General Counsel will report to the UCHealth Chief Legal Officer.
The preferred applicant would have proven experience in the following:
· General corporate governance
· Directly advising healthcare leadership
· Healthcare transactions, including physician contracting
· Stark, Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act
· Colorado-specific healthcare laws (or other state-specific laws with ability to learn Colorado law)
· Entity formation and documentation for nonprofit corporations and joint ventures
In addition, the applicant should have familiarity with three or more of the following:
· HIPAA and patient privacy
· Medicare reimbursement
· Academic Medical Centers
· CMS Conditions of Participation
· Joint Commission
· Nonprofit laws
· Patient consent laws
· Medical staff matters
· A minimum of 7 years of proven, in-depth healthcare experience, either with another healthcare company or at a law firm.
· Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
· State licensure as an Attorney.
The pay range for this position is: $84.28 - $134.84 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
