Title: Supervisor, Learning and Development

Summary: Supervises staff training and development programs including the Ophthalmology High School Internship Program. 

Job Duties:

• Partners with local high school districts to grow the Ophthalmology High School Internship Program.
• Uses adult learning principles while teaching, including virtual and distance education formats. Is comfortable with technology in the classroom. Works with management and SME's to assess learning needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Aligns course needs with system leadership competencies. Uses instructional design principles to develop content, including course objectives and activities to engage learners. Updates curricula with new content.
• Monitors course participants' progress. Conducts pre/post-training evaluations and measures learning outcomes.
• Coaches individuals and teams, using various coaching models. Conducts team building exercises and measures progress of individuals and teams.
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaint

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Ophthalmic Vocational training or Completion of 1 year sponsored training on the job. 
• Required Licensure/Certification: None required.
• Minimum Experience: 2 years of supervisory experience. 

Preferred: 

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Education or related field.
• 3 years of experience in high school and/or adult training.

The pay range for this position is: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
