Inpatient Coding Supervisor

This is a full-time, exempt/salary position on UCHealth’s Inpatient Coding team. This is a remote, work-from-home opportunity. Qualified out-of-state employees may be considered.

Job Duties

  • Plans, monitors, directs and evaluates staffing and coding production in the assigned work queues. Identifies day-to-day operational priorities and other workflow issues, adjusts coders and work appropriately. Helps to meet weekly goals.
  • Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Performs assigned Supervisor tasks in a timely manner, understands operational processes and workflows, provides feedback and communication/updates with peers, leadership and other departments as necessary, addresses issues as they arise.
  • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
  • Support management initiatives. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Actively participates in and comes prepared for internal meetings to discuss coding data trends/Volumes/productivity/patterns/changes.
  • Presents a positive image/demeanor with staff, peers and leadership.Serves as an internal liaison with other departments that have coding concerns/questions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Coding-related certification from AHIMA or AAPC
  • 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred

  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Inpatient Coding experience

    The pay range for this position is: $27.61 - $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
