Full-time Sr. Director Emergency Medical Services (Chief) opportunity with UCHealth; position physically based in Windsor, CO with oversight of a team spanning Fort Collins, Wellington, Windsor, Severance, Greeley, LaSalle, Kersey, Evans, Johnstown, Milliken, Poudre Canyon, Livermore, Red Feather, and other unincorporated Northern Colorado areas.

Position has direct oversight and operations of the Pre-Hospital Care program activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, vision and objectives of the service line and organization. Focus on patient care and staff experience in a pre-hospital setting, financial management of resources, strategic planning, contract negotiations, logistic needs, fleet management, QA/QI and training, while innovating to continually improve service. It is the vision of UCHealth to continue to grow EMS ambulance services in Northern Colorado through collaboration and innovation, while always putting our patients and communities first. Looking for a Sr. Director that is excited for ongoing growth, future demands and a commitment to strengthening the long-standing relationships with our other emergency services partners, while fostering new ones through a commitment to unprecedented partnerships throughout our region.

UCHealth EMS is the second largest EMS program in Colorado with goals of ongoing expansion. What makes our EMS service unique, is the strength of a hospital-based program which allows for the leveraging of clinical specialties within the system and the ability to follow the patient through the entire continuum of care. This team consists of 270+ team members and 55 ambulance units, along with a Secured Vehicle Transport (SVT) program of 4 vehicles and 16 behavioral health technicians.

Sr. Director Pre-Hospital Oversight

Provide strategic direction and systems thinking to the leadership team, ensuring delivery of high-quality clinical care in a collaborative, integrated EMS model across 15 fire jurisdictions with a coverage area of approximately 3000 sq. miles and an annual call volume of 55,000. Building relationships and partnering with both internal and external stakeholders in the Northern Colorado region that includes public safety agencies, multiple 911 communication centers and a variety of health care facilities. 911 Coverage area includes urban areas with high population densities, suburban response areas and remote mountain wilderness. Our ambulance service line includes 911 responses, interfacility transfers (IFT), and a secured vehicle transport program (SVT) for behavioral health patients. Additionally, UCHealth EMS partners with local law enforcement agencies in Special Operations (SWOT), all Hazards Response Teams (Wildland and rescue services) and Special Event coverage.

Oversight of a robust leadership team includes 1 Director, 8 Managers, 1 Program Manager, and 1 Business Analyst in areas of Operations, Logistics, Finance, Education, QA/QI, Fleet Maintenance, Emergency Management, and Volunteer/Special Events.

This position includes strong emphasis on leadership, communication, innovation, planning, problem solving, financial stewardship and collaboration with partnering agencies, hospital teams and community members; with emphasis on relationships that meet the vision and expectations of those agencies’ specific community needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: None Required.
    Minimum Experience: 5 years of clinical leadership experience.

The pay range for this position is: $63.32 - $101.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
