RN Traveler – Transplant, Hepatology and Thoracic Surgery Unit – Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion
We are a 36-bed surgical unit, specializing in the highly acute care of Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Surgery, and Hepatology patient populations. Our transplant program is the only program in the Rocky Mountain region that performs all solid organ transplants which includes lung, liver, kidney and pancreas recipients, as well as liver and kidney donors. Our program is distinguished for being the first in the world to successfully perform the first human liver transplant in 1967 and we have continued to excel in innovation as we provide our unique high acuity skillset admitting kidney and liver transplant patients directly to our unit from the OR. These patients are generally staffed in a 2:1, and/or 3:1 ratios to ensure safe, quality care during their most acute phases of healing. Our Thoracic surgery program is rated as one of the top programs in the nation, as they perform cutting edge surgeries, while our unit ensures delivery of excellent patient care and outcomes. We work closely with our providers and multidisciplinary teams from Transplant, Hepatology, and Thoracic Surgery, to ensure we are delivering optimal care to all patients throughout their continuum of care. Our team is passionate and honored to be specialty trained to care for such a unique population, and dedicated to supporting patients and families along their transplant journey. If you value caring for high acuity surgical patients and want to be a part of a patients’ new “Gift of Life” and cutting edge surgeries, then join our team!
