UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital surgical teams are dedicated to achieving the most successful outcomes while providing the highest level of care for patients throughout their surgical experience. From pre-admission testing and patient education through post-operative care and recovery, we are committed to helping patients in their journeys to better health and healing. 

UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital offers a range of surgical specialties including Head and Neck, Breast, Endoscopy, GI, General and Vascular, Orthopedic, Spine, Surgical oncology, URO-GYN plastic and reconstructive surgeries, and gender affirming procedures. 

UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital has 8 ORs, including two Robotic rooms, as well as 2 GI rooms and 2 interventional suites. 

SUMMARY

The Surgical Technologist facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time Weekend

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

REQUIREMENTS:

CREDENTIALS

  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
  • State Surgical Assistant OR Surgical Technologist registration

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma OR GED OR Military trained.
  • Minimum Experience: 6 months Surgical Tech experience OR Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.


The pay range for this position is: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
