Evaluates and treats patient populations for therapy needs.

Work Schedule: PRN Days


  • Assess infants in the NICU at risk for delays in musculoskeletal, neurobehavioral, neuromotor, oral motor/feeding, and sensory development. 
  • Establish a plan of care and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions that support the achievement of specified goals.
  • Involve family/caregivers in therapy sessions, providing education and support to facilitate a successful transition to home.
  • Document assessments, plan of care, interventions, and education. Make referrals for continued therapy services when indicated.
  • Educate NICU staff regarding the role of neonatal therapy, premature infant development, infant-driven feeding, and developmentally supportive care.
  • Collaborate with neonatal therapists throughout UCHealth on process improvement projects.


  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. Preferred: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Current licensure with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies to practice Occupational Therapy. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  • Minimum Experience: None required. Preferred: 3 years of NICU experience 


  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience in a level III or IV NICU, as this position requires the ability to work independently as the only neonatal therapist in the unit.

The pay range for this position is: $36.19 - $54.28 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
