Medical Assistant – Ambulatory Staffing Development Program – UCHealth Family Medicine Boulder

Full-time Medical Assistant opportunities with UCHealth in Denver!

Department: Positions available in primary care and specialty care clinics. Specialty care including Cardiology, Ortho, Urology, Neurology, and more.
Potential to develop and grow in a clinical ladder model.

FTE: Part Time, 40 hours / pay period, Days

Pay:  $19.67 -$26.34 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.


Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: MA certification or registration (Medical Assistant I)
    • UCHealth will hire into a Medical Assistant title in lieu of a Medical Assistant registration or certification if a candidate possesses: 3 years of Medical Assistant experience OR is a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

This position is for the Ambulatory Staffing Development program that hires all Medical Assistants for outpatient departments. You will be hired initially into the Ambulatory Staffing Development program for orientation and training after which time you are transferred to a specific outpatient clinic to become a full-time member of their staff. You will be responsible for assisting with patient care needs associated with outpatient services. We are looking for individuals who can provide the highest level of customer service in every interaction; going above and beyond is our standard.


The Medical Assistant role performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction and supervision of a provider or nurse, assists with performing patient care.
  • Performs basic clinical skills and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient conditions. Documents patient care provided.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
  • Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
