CHAPLAIN I PRN
This is an hourly/non-exempt, PRN Chaplain position for Long’s Peak Hospital in Longmont, Colorado. You must be available/willing to work a flexible schedule…including weekends, holidays and on-call for Broomfield and Longs Peak Hospitals. Provides spiritual, emotional and relational care to patients, their family members and organizational staff.

Summary:

  • PRN Chaplains primarily provide the after-hours, on-call coverage. The PRN is responsible to provide support to the patients, families, and staff. PRNs may also work daytime hours at LPH when covering for the Supervisor Chaplain when that person is on PTO. PRNs cover daytime hours at their “regular” hourly rate.
  • On-call hours for Spiritual Care Services at Long Peak Hospital/Bloomfield Hospital is presently set at Monday through Friday from 5:00PM-10:00PM; and Saturday-Sunday-Holiday from 8:00AM-10:00PM. There is currently no scheduled coverage between 10:00PM and 8:00AM.
  • The PRN Chaplains cover their on-call shifts from home. They are not in-house (on-site). The present means of contacting the PRN Chaplain is through their personal cell phone on app called Vocera. While on-call, the PRN Chaplains are covering both Longs Peak Hospital and Broomfield Hospital at the same time. The on-call response time is 30-45 minutes from the time of receiving the call to the time of arriving in the hospital.

A resume including your ACPE CPE units is required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities: 

  • Performs spiritual visitation, public worship services and outreach services.
  • Assesses and responds to the spiritual, emotional and cultural needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention, ethical concerns and bereavement.
  • Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care and patient health.
  • Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Satisfactory completion of one (1) unit of Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) CPE.
  • Relevant spiritual care experience.

The pay range for this position is: $24.11 - $36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
