UCHealth Clinical Quality and Safety Specialist (CQSS) – Safety
Roles and Responsibilities
· Safety Occurrence Management
o Performs routine occurrence review, identifies and escalates trends
o Administers Great Catch Program
o Partners with UCH Executive Leadership and CUSOM Departments / Divisions to identify key patient safety opportunities
o Facilitates proactive risk assessments
· Root Cause Analyses and Action
o Investigates, organizes, and facilitates in response to Sentinel and Serious Safety Events
o Supports action item owners and audits actions to successful completion
· Mandated Reporting
o Identify and report safety occurrences per regulatory requirements (CDPHE, FDA)
o Review and respond to regulatory queries
· Culture of Safety Survey
o Planning and promotion for Culture of Safety Survey administration
o Supports leadership with results review and action planning
Location: UCHealth Leprino Building Anschutz Campus, US:CO:Aurora

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $36.19 - $54.28 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is 100% onsite work. No remote work option.

Summary:
Participates in activities related to patient safety and quality programming. Measures, analyzes, and facilitates improvement in clinical performance and outcomes. Investigates occurrence reports and analyzes safety and quality trends.
Responsibilities:
Understands key clinical quality and patient safety measures. Promotes the use of appropriate measures for clinical and operational services.
Facilitates components of patient safety programs, incorporating industry best practices, and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
Helps identify priorities for implementation of performance improvement plans related to quality metrics and patient safety opportunities.
Provides support to clinical and operational teams.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
