Pay: $0.01 - $500.00 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary:
Teaches first, second and third year Family Medicine residents in all patient care settings, caring for patients directly. Provides administrative support to the program.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited medical school. Required Licensure/Certification: Unrestricted Colorado Board of Medical Examiners physician license. Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice. Appropriate credentialing through Medical Staff Services. Medical staff membership at either system hospital or other medical staff affiliated with the system. Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice. Preferred: ACLS/ALSO and NRP certification.
- Eligible to provide reimbursable Physician services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid. Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusions from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspector General (HHS/OIG) Cumulative Sanction Report or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
Minimum Experience: Relevant experience.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises resident physicians in the Family Medicine Center. Performs administrative duties, faculty development, and academic preparation. Gives direct patient care for an assigned panel of patients.
- May perform colposcopy, LEEP, flexible sigmoidoscopy, nasopharyngoscopy, exercise stress testing and vasectomies. Assists in precepting Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- Provides direct resident supervision, delivers lectures at resident conferences, performs reviews with resident physicians, and supervises on-call work of residents.
- Mentors assigned resident physicians; audits medical records; participates in resident recruitment; assists in the supervision of nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
