Location: UCHealth UCHlth Broomfield Hospital, US:CO:Broomfield; This position can be located in Denver/Metro, Northern Colorado, or Southern Colorado, but candidate must reside in Colorado. 

Department: HIM Warehouse Svcs

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days 

Pay: $19.10 - $24.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:

Completes and reports birth certificates and related forms in accordance with internal and external requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Interviews obstetrical patients to obtain required information for completion of birth certificate and/or other appropriate forms.
  • Witnesses signatures according to notary public and/or other policy requirements. Enters data into medical records and birth registry systems in accordance with state vital statistics regulations. 
  • Reviews medical records to complete and verify as needed. Provides authorized patient/persons with verification of birth.
  • Communicates with parents and edits records for changes/corrections as necessary. Reports birth records to external agencies as required by law.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree. 
  • Preferred: Training in Anatomy and Medical Terminology.
  • Preferred: Healthcare administrative experience.
