Summary:
Provides medical interpretation for patients, staff and guests who are non-English speaking, deaf, or hard of hearing, to help communication with healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
Effective 6/1/2025, National certification as Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) for eligible languages within 2 years of hire or from the effective date, whichever is later.
2 years of medical interpretation.
Completion of medical interpretation competency test.
