Pharmacist Clinical Inpatient - Oncology

Location: Rotating as needed to: Anschutz Inpatient Oncology, University of Colorado Hospital; Anschutz Cancer Pavilion, University of Colorado Hospital; Highlands Ranch Hospital Cancer Center; Lonetree Medical Oncology; Cherry Creek Medical Oncology 

Department: Pharmacy IP

FTE: Part Time, 0.7, 56.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift:  Flex

Schedule: The schedule is a 7-days on / 7-days off position, going Wednesday - Tuesday. Weekday shifts are 1300-2130, and weekend shifts are 0700-1530. The pharmacist will provide clinical coverage to the inpatient Oncology / Cellular Therapies unit at the Anschutz Medical Campus.  Weekend rotation participation will also be required, ensuring comprehensive patient care coverage.

Pay: $59.80 - $83.72 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
• Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Pharmacist and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
• PGY2 residency in Oncology, OR PGY1 residency + 1 years of Oncology Clinical experience, OR no residency and 3 years of Oncology Clinical experience preferred
• Prior inpatient experience is preferred
• Board certification in area of expertise within 1 year of employment preferred.

Clinical Pharmacist: 

• Ensure medications are prescribed, accurately dispensed, and administered according to best practices
• Provide drug information and counseling to patients and caregivers regarding medication use, accurate dosage, potential side effects, and administration instructions
• Stay current with updated medication formularies, new drug therapies, treatment protocols, and emerging medical research through continuous professional development and clinical education 
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate collaborative care to ensure optimal outcomes
